Quentin "Quin" Caito
“And that's how you paint while in a handstand.”
Age: Unknown, appears in early 30's
Gender: Male
Height: 6ft 2in (human), 72ft 6in long (deity)
Weight: 163bls (human), 1450lbs (deity)
Hair: Black beaded dreadlocks, usually pulled back in a ponytail
Eyes: Gold, more amber when human and green-tinted when deity
Species: Forgotten Deity
Primary residence: In a studio apartment about two blocks from Clocktower Park and within walking distance of the college
Profession: History professor, Artist
Personality:
Very calm and laid back, Quin tends to have a rather morbid sense of humor but he genuinely cares about his students and those he befriends. He sees Night City as his 'sovereign city' and goes to great lengths to try and make things better, something he does mainly by being the best teacher he can be and volunteering himself where ever help may be needed. Recently, he's volunteered himself to be a Deputy after being rescued by the Lady Knight and seeing how hard she pushes herself to protect the city.
Appearance:
Human - Tall and slim with darkly tanned skin covered in subtly glowing turquoise tattoos of roughly Aztec design. Generally wears his dreadlocks pulled back into a ponytail and has a pair of reading glasses enchanted to make his eyes appear brown instead of gold so they are less distracting.
Wears a suit when teaching, but casual wear often consists of simple jeans and a t-shirt. Likes sandals over shoes.
Deity - A giant emerald serpent with two sets of rainbow colored wings and a crest of feathers on his head as well as a spray of plumes on the end of his tail. Marked down back with the same tattoos as on his human form.
Play-by: N/A
History:
Quetzalcoatl, the Feathered Serpent, the God of Knowledge and Learning to the Aztec people, the God of Sport and Athleticism to the Mayan culture, a Creator and the personification of the Morning Star. At the height of his power, a true deity of immense power and influence, able to turn the world of his worshipers at his whim. Then the Spanish came, and his people were destroyed by disease and weapons none of the deities knew how to fight. Without the belief and worship of his people to sustain him, the fallen deity should have died and vanished along with them as so many of his brothers and sisters did. But the world has always needed knowledge, always needed learning, and the teachers and philosophers of the age managed to keep him from extinction simply by continuing on. Reduced to little more than a whisper of his former self, the fallen god drifted through history, his long memory recording everything that occurred around him as he traveled the world through the thoughts of the wise. He finally found a home to sustain him, allowing him a physical form for the first time in centuries as the natural magics of the land found his drifting essence. Finally able to rest and recover, he soared through the sky as in times old, drawing the border between Earth and Heaven to bask in the light of the Morning Star.
Abilities:
As a human, he can access only a small portion of his godly power, able to cast small spells and summon tools to his aide. He also has tight control over his physical form, able to shift portions of his body from human to deity and back again according to the situation, but his physical appearance can also be influenced by his emotions if they are strong enough to distract him or promote instinctive reaction.
As a deity, he is considerably more formidable, and not just because of his size. His magic is more potent and easier to summon, and his snake form possesses venomous fangs that can either inject his own special venom or other substances of his choosing. He is fully capable of flying, and is quite the aerial acrobat, using his lithe body and four wings to their greatest advantage. He can also choose his size as a deity, miniaturizing himself to be as small as a pet for situations calling for discretion and maxing out at a full size of 72 feet long from nose to tail with a maximum wingspan of over 100 feet. However, his deity form is difficult to maintain, since he has to draw almost exclusively on his own power and he really only has so much to draw on since the fall of his native people. If he is too drained, he will turn back into his human form, and it takes a minimum of 8 hours to get his magic back up to full strength.
His powers are mainly focused on the elements of air, and his magic often manifests as a sudden breeze, especially if he is summoning an object or tool to his aide. He also can use specific symbols for different tasks, mainly protective and barricading spells, and his deity form imbues specific attributes depending upon which portion is given; Feathers generally facilitate communication, scales create magic-resist barriers, venom causes varying effects depending upon what kind is collected, etc. His human avatar does not provide such attributes.
