(A Nemo de Thanatos thread for whoever wants to interact with the crazy bitch Valkyrie)
There is no growth without a challenge.
No mountain was ever conquered in a day - save the destruction of Olympus. But that... did not necessarily count.
Nemo watched the city go by from the rooftop, perched on a stone statue, her weapon in hand and wind tugging at her cape. Human progress was fascinating, but with each advance came the diminishment and decay of her own being. In another hundred years, she would be too weak to fight, and then it would be over.
Night City was... hard to describe. There was no other city where she would feel comfortable, even Denver would not welcome her for long. There was a balance here, one that could keep her head above water.
But... for how long?

Viktor flew above the city, gazing down at the night lights below. The wind was a bit cool tonight but he didn't mind it, it felt so wonderful to fly so freely. So many years cooped up in RED, his wings hadn't had much time to stretch. He picked up speed and he sped across the sky, twirling as he did and chuckling to himself. This felt so wonderful, however he didn't know what lay below on the rooftops.

Nemo looked at the sky.
To see Babylon out in the air was not unusual, and occasionally some of the other airborne creatures went out into the skies. The moon was a sliver of a crescent, and nothing seemed as spectacular as the night in this city. And why not? It wasn't called 'Night City' for no reason.
Still, an eternity hopping between one world to the next, simply to survive... It saddened her.
Seeing the angel in the sky, Nemo stood up, one hand reaching out to grasp a wayward feather he had lost.

He stopped for a mere second to catch a glimpse of his surroundings and gaze at the city below once more. He had flown over many cities in his day, but nothing compared to this. Viktor turned his head and looked at the moon overhead, t'was a very beautiful night and this city seemed to enhance it.

Thinking the angel wouldn't hear, Nemo started to whistle idly, resting most of her weight against her weapon. It was quiet enough on the rooftops.

He heard something very faint, it was tune, come from below him. It was pretty catchy and Viktor flapped his wings and swooped down to the rooftops below him.

It was a war song she had picked up somewhere. She didn't know if there were words, but the tune had always stuck with her as she had been traveling. It was imposing, almost, the visage of the Valkyrie standing over the city as if she was indeed the sole protector. Many thought of her as such, though she knew better than to attempt to say so. The city was her home. She would fight to defend it as viciously as she had defended her kin during the Crusades.
The wind tugged at her cape, her tune carrying along the sky, high over the city.

Viktor landed on the rooftop beside Nemo and he folded his wings behind himself, listenign to her whistle her song.

She let the feather slip from her hand, carried with the wind as her tune faded into the night air. She didn't seem to notice the angel beside her, her mind elsewhere.

She looked lost in thought and his eye caught site of a stray feather he had lost. He didn't want to break whatever thought she was currently in, but he had never seen her before. He was a bit curious. "Pardon me?" It was soft, nearly above a whisper.

Voice.
The world of the past was suddenly gone, and she was back over Night City. Someone was talking to her. Nemo blinked and looked over, noticing the angel. She had seen him a few times, and only knew him through Germain's usual bragging. She bowed respectfully.
"Is there something I can help you with, angel?"

The Valkyrie bowed deeper.
"I am the Valkyrie of Night City, the Son of Gwayr, Nemo de Thanatos."

Nemo straightened up, her armor clattering as she did so, her massive axe at her side.
"I am not a valkyrie of human legend, sir. I am a Concordian Valkyrie... and one of the last of my kind." Her face was expressionless, but her eyes showed her sadness at that fact.
