Coraline quirked a brow at him, the feathers in her hair flattening at such an odd question.
"No. They are for myself."

Coraline stretched and stepped away from her desk. Her clothes fell away to feathers and the woman melted into a bird, settling on one of the many perches. She was reddish-orange, a long set of tail feathers trailing behind her, and she was roughly the size of a hawk, with a long slender neck and needle-like beak.

Alfons cried out in delight and he immediately ran over to the bird, giggling happily as he began to stroke her neck. "Du bist ein birdy!" he cried out happily, clapping his hands together. "Ooooh! You are such ein pretty birdy!"

The bird fluffed out her feathers, looking a little annoyed at the sudden shrieking and attention. Well, yes, she was pretty... but still...
"Anyways, what did you want to see me about, or did you just want to gush?"

Alfons giggled softly, smiling at her as he idly stroked her head and the side of her neck in delight. "I came to see zhe new leader of zhe city." he said. "Ve need to have some kind of religious site here! It is nicht fair!" he cried, pouting slightly. "Und here!" he said, holding up the basket under her beak. "Treats!"

"If you want a religious site, submit a proposal in writing, I'll get to it as soon as I can."
...whatever was in the basket smelled good. Coraline fluttered off her perch - returning to her human form and sitting back behind her desk. There was still work to do, unfortunately.
"I have a lot of work to do before the end of the day."

Were all humans like this?
"Important work. The sort that keeps the city running."

He huffed and placed his hands on the table. With a sweep of his arms he sent the papers scattering all over the room.

She twitched, narrowing her eyes at him, the air around her growing warmer as she threatened to combust in order to get her point across. Her eyes glowed angrily at him.
Humans were so damn stupid. And annoying.
"If you're going to make a mess of my office, leave." She growled.

Coraline sighed and stood up. Well, he had a point. And he was probably her first visitor aside from Sebastian bringing her food and drinks. Fine, she would play the human game. She sat back, making a note to clean up when he was gone.
"It seems neither of us are good at making first impressions."

He blushed and sighed softly, offering her a small smile as he shook his head, sitting down finally. "Here...try ein treat." he said, placing the basket on the desk in front of her, idly wondering what she would pull out when she reached inside.

The bird reached her hand into the basket, pulling out a small shortbread cookie and nibbling at it.
"Thank you."
Well, that was a start.
"As for your request for a religious center, what do you want?"
