The trail lead through some of the lesser areas of Night City. Street rat and hooker territory. Tucker's territory.
The van was found in an alleyway. The tires slashed, the doors open, and windows busted. The interior smells of sweat and blood, though it has been cleaned thoroughly and obviously left to rust.

Johann wrinkled his nose when he found it, turning back into his more human form. "I don't like it here..." he mused

Thunder is of the same mind, the dog's fluffy black fur fluffing out further as he stalked up behind the boy, growling low as his wings flared in a defensive manner. Bryce brought up the rear, and frowned at the destroyed wreck of a vehicle. "Thunder, guard." The dog nodded, stepping in front of both the boy and the woman as the man stepped forward. He reached into a pocket, fumbling a moment before he came up with a small satchet. Without any further ado, he hucked the little thing into the van, where the tiny packet exploded into white powder. Bryce stepped back, away from the particles hovering in the air like smoke and scattering across the ground, sleeve over his mouth and nose. "Checkin' f'r traps, untoward magic. Not uncommon in this area, but it might give us a clue."

Kefira kept her distance from the van, covering her nose with her hand. "Better safe then sorry..." She agreed nodding, it made sense. "But the smell is nauseating…"

"Mmm, I know. It's reactin' t'somethin', normally hasn't got a smell at all..." The powder was starting to turn colors, the white film sticking to every surface inside the destroyed van and clinging to the open doors as well as finding some purchase on the concrete.
It's yours, Weaver. what's it reacting to?}

(sorry for the lengthy delay, I had a medical procedure today, and slept, and slept, and slept)
The white film revealed that something was rolling around, human handmarks smeared over the surfaces like someone was trying to gain their footing and eventually fight themselves free. There were marks on the doors, a dent that looked like a scorched horse hoof. The smell changes rather dramatically from blood and rust to burnt flesh, like something inside spontaneously combusted.

Bryce grimaced, dark eyes narrowing at the black and red marks that stained the white powder that was swiftly dulling to a greasy yellow, and Thunder growled. "This is bad. This is very bad."

"Yea..." Kefira said softly, nodding. "...Do you think someone just... exploded?" She asked staring inside the abandoned van.

"Looks like. Or..." Bryce stepped forward, sleeve still over his face as he crouched to get a closer look at that hoof print. "Turned into something else." Straightening, he turned to the dog, giving a sharp whistle. Thunder promptly bound over and sat down, ears pricked attentively. The man bent, speaking quietly to the canine, who nodded and promptly spread his hidden wings, the speckled black and white primary feathers brushing against either side of the alleyway. With one hard downbeat, Thunder was gone, off into the darkening evening sky. Bryce watched a moment, then turned his attention to the others. "Thunder's gonna scout around, we'll have to cover the ground. I got a feelin' I know the one who's in trouble."

Bryce shrugged. "Well, depends upon which form he's in. Tucker's never been in the best shape, an' he isn't likely t'be able t'fight back. Illinga, though..." A thin, somewhat strained smile. "Well, he's not called the King o' Fools f'nothin'."

"Let's just hope he is safe..." Kefira said nodding "I guess he probably has few tricks up his sleves if he has a nick name like that..."

"He's also a giant flaming horse with a skull for a face an' a bad attitude, so- Yeah, he's got a few tricks." Bryce started down the alley, on the look out for anything out of the ordinary for these parts of the city. "Course, that means whatever takes 'im down is gonna be bloody bad news f'the rest of us."
